Blogs in Pressburst

We are delighted to be launching a new feature as part of Pressburst – blogs. Schools will soon be able to upload any blog posts they wish to promote – in a very similar way to news stories – and they will be available for publication by Attain both online and in print (with more channels coming soon).

We often receive news stories which are just not news! They are instead comment pieces, normally written by Heads and they are often very good but we cannot use them as news. So we are delighted to announce a new blog feature for Pressburst. You will soon see a new option below Stories in the navigation – Blogs. You can add a blog post by simply clicking on Add and completing the form, in a very similar way to a news story. You can include photos and tags in the same way as news.

When you publish a blog, you can make it available to Attain which is our first blog channel partner. The best blogs will be published by Attain with a small selection featuring each term in the printed edition of the magazine. It’s a great way to raise the profile of your school with a well-written, topical comment piece.

Schools who are on the professional plan of Pressburst can also publish blogs to their own website, using the API to bring in the content. It makes it very easy to showcase regular comment pieces from your Head and make them available to Attain (with more channels coming soon), all without leaving Pressburst. Your Head – or any other contributor – can have their own login to Pressburst so they can upload their own content. You will also notice that under the Account menu we have added the ability to add a photograph against your profile which can then be displayed as part of the blog post.

Blogs will be available in the next version of Pressburst which will be available from the 2nd July. If you would like any help integrating blogs or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
